Russell has been teaching yoga (Unlock Your Body) for the past 4 years and is the brain child of the Mat 2 Plate concept. Russell found that yoga practice was often serious with little opportunity to mingle and have fun, so he developed the idea that would bring the opportunity for teachers and students to join in conversation. Add food into the mix and you have the amazing opportunity to nourish every single cell in your body! This is the Mat 2 Plate concept
Deanne is a small business owner, managing a community pharmacy and working as a consultant pharmacist as well as teaching yoga classes and workshops. Deanne loved Russell’s idea for the Mat 2 Plate concept, also noticing a gap in the market place in combining a wellness activity such as yoga with a social and fun aspect. We all love going to our favourite yoga class, but sometimes we want to chat and enjoy getting to know each other after - what better way than to share this experience over a meal experience designed for yogis. We hope Mat 2 Plate will have even more people in the community experiencing yoga and friendship, which will mean a happier planet overall!
For the third Mat 2 Plate installment, We have a special Jivamukti Class in May 2015 where you can gain 1.5 CPD Points if you are a Yoga teacher! Always, we encourage you to SUBSCRIBE to our mailing list to find out where we are heading next. Plan ahead and grab your friends because tickets will always be limited! ;)
Jivamukti Yoga Backbend into the Future - 22nd of May 2015 (Sunday) - 4:30pm - 7.30pm.
Jivamukti Yoga is one of the nine internationally recognised styles of Yoga. Classes are fast-paced, invigorating and a fully balanced blend of vinyasa and asana sequences (sun salutations linked to standing, forward bending, backbending, twisting and inverting poses), sanskrit chanting, physical alignment exploration, Yogic philosophical teachings, meditation and relaxation. Set to an eclectic playlist that ranges from Indian kirtan to hip hop, rock, funk, classical and spoken word, Jacqueline Teusner's challenging Jivamukti yoga class will have a backbending theme. You'll open your heart and "Backbend to the future" with a sense of adventure, fearlessness, joy, confidence, compassion and love. A key tenet of Jivamukti Yoga is ahimsa, that is, a nonviolent, compassionate lifestyle extending to all living beings and the environment. This important tenet will be acknowledged with an amazing 3-course glorious vegan meal put on by Entropy in Thebarton. As an added bonus, Yoga Australia teachers will gain 1.5 CPD credits for your participation in the class. We are so excited to hosting you at Mat 2 Plate in May 2016! BOOK NOW!
You'll have a chance to converse with the teachers, hosts and chef of the venue. Entropy is proud to specialise in serving only locally sourced South Australian produce.

Jacqueline is the owner of GO YOGA. She believes the ancient teachings and techniques of Yoga are as relevant today, if not more so, as they were thousands of years ago. Through technology, we seem to be growing more connected and informed online but more disconnected and mis-infomed in our relationships with others - as in other beings and Mother Earth and have become immune to suffering. Jacqueline's Jivamukti Yoga teaches that the path to enlightenment or freedom from suffering, is through compassion and compassionate action towards all beings
Vinyasa & Partner Yoga
Karen is the Director and principal yoga teacher at YOGA GARAGE. She began practicing yoga in '86 to manage chronic knee pain and found that practice not only cured her of it, but also improved her overall physical & emotional health. Her vinyasa approach of linking breath and movement with its meditative quality is both calming and soothes the nervous system. This powerful approach that quietens and steadies the mind, is central to both her practice and teaching. She is committed to teaching yoga that caters to the needs of each individual, respecting that everyone is unique. In this way Karen believes that yoga is a gift for life and can be practiced from 3 to 103!
Deanne has a passion for health and wellness in all aspects of her life. She is a community and consultant pharmacist by day and is also a business partner in retail pharmacy store. Deanne’s other main love is yoga, having practiced ashtanga vinyasa style yoga for over 10 years and realising the immense physical and mental benefits that yoga can bring. Her yoga teachings combine the spiritual benefits of yoga with a scientific and structured approach to the yoga postures. She runs her own massage and yoga business “Flex Yoga and Massage” and specialises in teaching vinyasa style yoga and Yoga for Cyclists workshops.
